**Some of what you will do**:
The Manager FP&A, Merchandising is responsible for financial planning and reporting, supporting the Merchandising team. The Manager will report directly to the Director FP&A (Sales and Margin). This team will be involved in budget, forecast (in-month and long range) and build and maintain financial reports for Merchandising divisions. As well as, analyzing KPIs, and developing enhanced, value-added financial analysis and insight to help drive improved financial and business performance. To do this, this role will work closely with the business and leadership team to understand and evaluate key business trends and to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and forecasts. Also, the role will ensure any new strategic areas and initiatives are financially supported.

**Specifically, You Will**:

- Build and maintain budget and forecasts models for merchandising sales and margin across business units
- Work with the business to identify/validate key business assumptions and incorporate them into the monthly forecasts, annual budget, and outlook
- Liaise with various departments, such as but not limited to, Merchandising, cross function FP&A teams, Inventory Control, Sales Audit, Accounting, IT, etc.
- Support the development of strategy and the 5-year long range plan model
- Creates and reviews analysis and reports of financial and operating data
- Actively lead and/or participate in various process improvement initiatives, special projects, and ad hoc analysis
- Review month-end variance analysis and commentaries vs budget and forecasts
- Develops actionable management reporting and scorecards to provide insights into performance, variances, drivers and key business trends
- Review the analysis of weekly/monthly results and issuing required reports and reconciliations
- Mentor and develop a senior financial analyst
- Ensure high employee engagement at every level through effective motivation, coaching, training, and development of associates on the team

**Some of what you need**:

- University degree (B.A.) with commerce/business administration focus or equivalent in work experience is required.
- Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or MBA preferred
- Exceptional financial analytical ability skills preferably developed in a retail environment
- 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in finance role, with a focus in budgeting and planning
- Experience in retail, particularly multiple-location/national and multi-channel retail is an asset
- Critical thinking, can see the ‘big picture’ in a complex business environment
- Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Comfort and confident in dealing with senior leadership
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present complex information to non-technical business partners, including senior management
- Ability to interpret large amounts of financial and non-financial data and summarize it to present meaningful information to various levels of management
- Time management and self-management skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and motivating others
- Proficiency in Power BI and SQL are strong assets, but not required
