POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position will be responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all inbound freight, follow up with vendors. This will include working closely with supply chain, warehouse, drivers, and third party carriers to ensure the efficient and timely movement of freight.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be self-motivated and able to work well independently and within a team
- Be conscientious of offering quality service to our valued drivers and customers
- communication with drivers, vendors and the purchasing department
- scheduling appointments with vendors
- scheduling inbound freight appointments with the GFS receiving department
- Communication with drivers daily to provide workload
- Ongoing monitoring of drivers and proactively addressing any delays or issues as they arise
- Ensure prompt and proper movement of products
- Report on productivity of in bound freight and areas to optimize productivity

DESIRED SKILLS
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Google suites
- Strong knowledge of logistics and coordination
- Take pride in working safely and representing Gordon Food Service professionally
- Innovative problem solving skills
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years in a logistics coordinator position would be an asset
- Post secondary education, preferably in Supply Chain and Operations Management
