**Primary Security Guard Duties/Responsibilities but not limited to**:

- Observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property assets and personnel.
- Performs periodic site patrols to check for any irregularities/damages and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
- Use of M-Post (GPS monitored) guard-force software throughout the shift.
- Preserves orders and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site about personnel, visitors, and premises.
- Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
- Patrols assigned site on foot or in a vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
- Satisfy client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.
- Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and CCTV - monitoring software.
- Ability to use computer systems
- Protects evidence or scene of an incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
- Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
- Use of communication systems to report and inform site management and supervisor.
- Prepare logs, and incident reports by hand or computer or both and send them to the appropriate parties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to stand or walk for long period of time if required
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR AED or willing to attain
- Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
- Current and valid Alberta Security Licence
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports using phone software
- Ability to strictly follow site orders
- Report any damage done to the property to the property manager/administrator

Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week

**Education**:

- Secondary School (required)

**Experience**:

- Canadian Security Guard: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Alberta Security License (required)
