The Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator is required to ensure the smooth, accurate and efficient organized functions of the warehouse. Responsibilities include various aspects such as heavy/large material handling, accurate receiving, shipping, packaging and sorting of goods and materials in the warehouse and performing all inventory related activities efficiently. Cleanliness and efficient workings of warehouse and shipping areas and ensure cleanliness and safety of outdoor perimeter of building.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Demonstrate high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior.

2. Ensure optimal safety and organization of the warehouse for efficient loading and unloading of product;
3. Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling). All paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to the office in a timely manner.

4. Stage finished product for loading including appropriate shipping documents. Nothing leaves the warehouse without a signed _Bill of Lading/Packing Slip_

5. Load finished product onto truck, trailer or delivery vehicle.

6. Unload raw materials from truck, trailer or delivery vehicle and prepare/process appropriate receiving documents.

7. Move materials to assigned warehouse or parts storage area safety and accurately.

8. When required, responsible for deliveries and pre-delivery inspections.

9. Tag any returned or used equipment and record according to current processes.

10. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).

11. Operate forklift, trucks, and vehicles and perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on forklift, truck, and/or vehicles.

12. Complete daily logs.

13. Clean and maintain work area. Move waste from warehouse to dumpsters.

14. Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.

15. Ensure warehouse doors and gates are locked at the end of the day. Vehicles are brought into building at end of day. Turn off lights, turn heaters down at night.

16. General outdoor management (i.e. lawn maintenance (cutting) and shoveling walkways and salting driveway and walkways when required.)

17. Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expected to know and understand the company’s workplace Health & Safety Policy.
- Ensure forklift maintenance has been performed including regular oil changes.
- Ensure adequate supply of forklift propane is available and secure.
- Assist installers and service technicians in loading and unloading equipment.
- Assembly of equipment as directed.
- Ensure an adequate supply of anchor bolts exist for the next two weeks.
- Monthly inventory counts
- Monthly fire extinguisher review

Provide on-the-job training to new employees.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Intermediate reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent;
2. Minimum 5 years warehouse experience; Experience with handling large/heavy materials will be considered an asset.

3. Professional appearance, team player and leads by example

4. Strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills;
5. Forklift Certification.

7. Valid drivers license, minimum Class G required;
8. Organized with high level of attention to detail;
9. Professional appearance and leads by example;
10. Ability to interact professionally with customers.

11. Hours of work Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

12. Range of mobility, 80% of the day requires standing and walking split 50/50, 10% on machinery assembly, 10% on sitting completing paperwork. Must be able to lift 50 lbs to waist height, 40 lbs overhead, and walk with 20 lbs.
