**Job Overview**

Reporting to the Manager, designQ, as the **Design Consultant - Showhomes** you will provide design expertise and manage finishing selections of new homes for assigned projects and clients.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Selecting interior/exterior products for showhomes alongside committee members and presenting to assigned builder(s). Participating in review of approved showhome concept, floor plan, showhome specific details, and furniture selections.
- Attending open houses with clients, answering questions, showcasing standard products, discussing upgrade options, and preparing clients for their design consultation.
- Delivering exceptional customer experience during the design centre consultation, providing guidance to homeowners in choosing interior/exterior finishes and finishing products.
- Addressing client concerns, ensuring clarity during consultations, and finalizing selections, pricing, modifications, and paperwork together with clients.
- Submitting quotation requests to trade partners, tracking upgrades for each design consultation, and filing house folders as required.
- Selecting interior and exterior products, colour charts, and materials based on the budget and geographical location for specification houses and specifying those selections for architectural approval. Site visits may be required to answer any installation and/or product questions.
- Creating accurate drawings of tile placements and completing coloured flooring layouts and forwarding them to related departments and flooring providers.
- Staying current on design trends and product knowledge to ensure selections align with customer preferences, lifestyles and budgets.

**Essential Requirements**
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Certificate or Diploma in Interior Design, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of Design-related experience.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Comfortable using office equipment and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Access, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and related software programs.

**Preferred Requirements**
- Experience in the home building industry or related field is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

**Work Conditions**

Primarily works in an office setting. Hours are primarily regular business hours with evening work required one day per week (Thursdays until 8pm). Overtime may occasionally be required.
