Retractable Screen Fabricator and Installer

Dreamscreens Canada Inc. is a family owned business headquartered in Oakville, Ontario for the past 20 years. We manufacture and install retractable screen doors and overhead motorized screens. We are looking to add a new member to our production and installation team.

The Production & Installation Technician will be a key member of the Dreamscreens team. This person will be required to perform a broad range of assembly tasks associated with the building and installation of retractable screen doors and motorized screens. Some of the duties will include:

- Cut & assemble retractable screen door and motorized components accurately, thoroughly, and efficiently to approved specifications
- Use equipment required to build custom screen fabric panels
- Inform the supervisor when components are getting low and will need to be re-ordered.
- Responsible for maintaining and cleaning machines as well as warehouse space.
- Install retractable screen doors and large motorized screens 1-3 days a week.

**Experience in the following is an asset**:

- power tools
- machine operation
- repair work, handyman type work
- working with heights

**Essential Job functions**:

- Build retractable screen doors and motorized screen prep
- Inspect product for quality, and customer requirements
- Load, unload, lift, and move materials and products utilizing lifting equipment when available.
- Operate power tools (including but not limited to a mitre saw, power drill, drill press, grinder).
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness.
- Typical week during peak season May to October would be 3-4 days a week in the shop 9am to 5pm and 1-2 days a week installing motorized usually consisting of an 8-12 hour day.

**Qualifications**:

- Basic math and reading comprehension skills
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Basic ability to read, speak, and understand English language
- Ability to use power tools
- Stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of workday
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. alone and over 50 lbs. with assistance
- Responsible and reliable

Hiring Process: We will require 2 employment references, a driver's abstract, and a police check, given that work is conducted on and in homeowners property.
