Your Opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic professional to join our Medical Device Reprocessing Team supporting Red Deer Regional Health Centre. Reporting to the Central Zone MDRD manager, the MDRD Supervisor will be responsible for providing direct supervision and operational support to MDRD staff. The supervisor plays a key role in the organization and day to day functioning of the department, assists in the management of both human and financial resources, and promotes best practice and quality outcomes as a member of the surgical services team.

Description:
Under the direction of the Manager, the Medical Device Reprocessing Supervisor will assist in the organization of the department. Duties will include: Leading and providing supervision to MDRD staff Plan and organize the day to day function of the department Assures the adherence of all standards and policies as set forth by Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and the accrediting bodies for the purpose of licensure, regulation and accreditation. Responsible for updating departmental manuals, assisting with CQI processes and departmental audits Oversees and participates in the orientation, training and continuing education of Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) staff Must be able to perform all essential duties of position description, which may include the ability to lift and move patients, pushing, pulling, bending and stooping Proven demonstration of workplace excellence shown by commitment to strong job performance and attendance Liaise with the OR/Endo leaders to facilitate that all requests are met in a timely manner and equipment issues are addressed Liaise with other departments of the organization in a respectful, collaborative manner to meet operational needs related to MDRD

**Required Qualifications**:
Minimum of 5 years recent experience as a Surgical Processor is a requirement for this position. Surgical Processor Diploma from a reputable College/Institution. Certification from either CSA or IAHCSMM is required. The incumbent must have demonstrated knowledge of current quality improvement practices and current health care issues surrounding sterile processing practices. Must demonstrate the ability to educate and support others while handling multiple requests in this high paced environment. Must be flexible in managing varying and unpredictable situations. Able to work independently and exercise sound judgement at all times. Must be proactive in planning, developing and implementing effective strategies to resolve issues and problems. Knowledge of AHS policies and procedures and applicable legislations is required. Must have a working knowledge of Windows 10, SPM instrument tracking system and a working knowledge of RMS, ESP and ePeople.
