B&B Contracting possesses a strong reputation in the civil construction industry, having been in operation for 75 years. B&B is now seeking a **Human Resources Assistant** to join our growing company.
- **Job Purpose**:_
The HR Assistant will provide administrative support to the HR department and assist with the day-to-day operations of the department. They will work closely with the HR Manager and other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of HR processes and procedures.
- **Key Responsibilities**:_
- Provide administrative support to the HR department including but not limited to; filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, and record keeping
- Assist with the recruitment and selection process, including;
- drafting new job postings;
- conducting an internal audit of existing descriptions;
- scheduling interviews; and
- conducting reference checks
- Prepare new employee paperwork and conduct orientation sessions for new hires
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including enrollment and changes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of HR-related communications, such as newsletters and memos
- Provide support for HR-related events and activities, such as training sessions and employee engagement initiatives
- Assist with the coordination of performance reviews and employee evaluations
- Audit and revise HR Employee Handbooks for Office as well as Field Staff - ensuring accuracy and aligned with collective agreements
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all collective agreements and related employment legislation
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
- **Qualifications**:_
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in an HR support role
- Knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws and regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Ideally BambooHR)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a team environment

**Salary**: $48,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
