Student Counselor

**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to children, focusing on emotional, social, and behavioral development.
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs of clients and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for each child.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress, including data collection and documentation of sessions.
- Engage in case management activities to coordinate services and resources for clients.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
- Stay informed about best practices in special education, pediatrics, and mental health interventions through ongoing research and professional development.

**Experience**
- A background in special education or experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with data collection methods and research practices related to child development is beneficial.
- Previous experience in patient care or case management within a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset for effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.
