**Data and Digital Infrastructure Coordinator, Global Institute for Water Security**:
**Primary Purpose**: The Data and Digital Infrastructure Coordinator develops and implements digital strategy and supporting digital software infrastructure and engages local, national and international stakeholders through data sharing and digital solutions, building the reputation of the Global Institute for Water Security (GIWS) and University of Saskatchewan (USask) in alignment with strategic communications plans. Work is to be aligned with GIWS’ strategic and business plans.
**Nature of Work**:Reporting to the GIWS Executive Director, the Data and Digital Infrastructure Coordinator will be part of the GIWS Secretariat, and will ensure high quality in digital support initiatives, including web, mobile, social media, and other digital platforms. In particular, the Coordinator is responsible for web renewal projects, web-based event support, and ongoing development, maintenance, posting, and support for the GIWS website, as well as websites for projects and programs associated with the Institute.
The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with a broad range of partners is key. The work requires a proactive and strategic approach, sometimes with a high volume and complexity, flexibility, and the management of competing interests with satisfactory outcomes for all involved. You demonstrate a strong safety acumen and support strategic change management.
**Accountabilities**:
- Contribute to the efforts of the Outreach and Engagement team by creating compelling online content and tools across multiple platforms (web, social media, display screens, etc.)
- Support the work of GIWS members with their online presence (web pages, thematic research content on GIWS website)
- Ensure digital infrastructure supports responsible data stewardship and access
- Support creation and maintenance of GIWS online membership profiles, as well as faculty, research staff, and GIWS Secretariat profiles
- Maintain and develop event websites, registration systems, abstract submission systems, and create posters and presentations online for major events, including Water Fridays and Women Plus Water conversations, mentorship circles, and expert list
- Maintain and support a universal calendar of events across all GIWS activities
- Create and propose social media content sharing strategies to ensure our content is being seen and shared widely by our key audiences. Integrate and support social media platforms across all websites (i.e. BlueSky, Instagram, YouTube)
- Create, develop, and integrate interactive online content such as maps, live web-cams, interactive stories that could include video, photo, infographics, etc.
- Work closely with USask ICT and web units to support GIWS web technical needs
- Include apps, programs or software associated with GIWS research projects on websites
- Actively seek new online technology that will support water research through our online presence
- Monitor and use analytics to measure and report on the effectiveness of digital content and strategies
**Qualifications**:
**Education**: A minimum undergraduate degree in computer science, marketing, communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered. A related graduate degree is an asset.
**Experience**:
- Minimum 3-5 years of digital services work experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment, is an asset
- Experience with environmental sustainability content, will be considered an asset
- Demonstrated foundational knowledge of the role of data in supporting research and engagement
- Experience with Cascade web content management system and embedding html/php programing
- Fluent with software such as Office, Adobe Suite, etc.
- Background in website creation, maintenance, support, etc.
- Knowledge of MS SQL Server relational database will be an asset
