**Program Coordinator - ElevateHer Program**
Times Change Women’s Employment Service is an incorporated non-profit charitable community agency. For 50 years, we have been providing women with free employment workshops, computer training, counselling and resources. Our mandate is to advance gender equity by helping women increase their prosperity and security through sustainable and satisfying employment.
**Overview**
Over the course of the ElevateHer project, Times Change Women’s Employment Service will create and implement a mentor and sponsorship initiative for employers to advance women to senior positions within their workplaces. This project will help employers remove obstacles that hold women back from advancing in their careers, such as not having connections to higher-level professionals for mentor/sponsorship. ElevateHer’s goal is to contribute to a larger systemic movement for more women in leadership roles.
The ElevateHer Program Coordinator, in collaboration with a consultant and stakeholders, is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and coordinating the ElevateHer Program at Times Change.
As an agency providing front line service to women, only those who are qualified and identify as women will be considered (reference: Section 24 (1) (a), Special Employment, Ontario Human Rights Code)
**Responsibilities**
- Oversee all aspects of the ElevateHer program
- Partner with a consultant and work with stakeholders (via focus groups, surveys, and community outreach) to inform the project's strategic plan, research and develop an evidence-based mentor/sponsorship program for employers, and conduct evaluations (deliverable: one evidence-based, Gender-Based Analysis + project plan)
- Identify medium to large sized employers ready to implement a mentor/sponsorship program to advance women in their companies (deliverable: employer list with minimum 90 company contacts)
- Develop an employer engagement strategy
- Develop, implement and facilitate mentor/sponsorship program training to employers’ management and staff (including how to implement the program, how employers can prepare and match mentees/mentors, and how to measure the success of the program)
- Conduct evaluations to measure effectiveness of the initiative in achieving the objective and to collect stories of impact (target: commitments from 30 employers to implement a workplace mentor/sponsorship program; minimum of one woman per each committed employer is engaged in the initiative)
- Consult with Operations Coordinator regarding budget/spending for the program
- Keep all program statistical records; create funder reports on the outcomes, successes and challenges of the program
- Liaise with community and other partners to promote the program and recruit employer participants
- Oversee a program assistant and graphic designer
- Perform admin tasks as required
**Qualifications**
**Education**:
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. human resources, diversity/inclusion/equity studies, women's studies, social work, etc.) OR acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
**Experience**:
Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in the following:
- Development and implementation of a program (experience with employers and/or a mentor/sponsorship program is an asset)
- Establishing, maintaining and growing professional and business relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Educating, coaching, advising, and consulting on equity, diversity, and inclusion issues and influencing individuals
- Preparing and facilitating training, and developing related documents, manuals and guides pertaining to inclusion, diversity and equity in the workplace
**Skills**:
- Keen awareness of issues facing women and excellent knowledge of challenges and systemic barriers for women seeking advancement in the workplace
- Thorough understanding of principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion and advancing gender equality through an intersectional lens
- Thorough understanding of the key processes used to successfully design, develop and implement an equity, diversity, and inclusion strategy and program
- Strong ability to 'sell' the program to employers, network and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience managing/supervising staff or volunteers is required
- Ability to work independently with mínimal guidance and/or supervision.
- Excellent program coordination skills, including strong administrative skills, superior time management skills, detail-oriented, and well-organized
- Facilitation, negotiating and mediation skills
- Ability to function as an agent of change seeking increased alignment with stated diversity, equity, and inclusion values; able analyze needs and propose solution
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet targets and manage multiple, often competing priorities with a positive attitude
