- **SSP (Specialized Services Program)**: staff provide strategies and suggestions to caregivers/parents and family members on how to meet the client’s needs, work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to plan and carry out programs, enable and support learning for the child and family members in the home and community. **Must be willing to travel in Calgary and surrounding areas.**

**Job Summary**:

- Develop and implement activities, strategies and schedules to address IPP goals.
- To work as part of the team (including but not limited to the therapists and service coordinator) to plan and carry out programs, to enable and support learning for child and family members in the home and community.
- Organize and prepare daily plans for individual children/student utilizing visual schedules, special seating, accessing and modifying learning materials, classroom equipment and activities to meet the needs of the child/student.
- Focus on relationship building, to support the implementation of sensory-based strategies.
- Assist children/student and youth in play activities, daily routines, language development, fine and gross motor activities and daily living skills (eating, self-care, etc.).
- Documentation of child/student’s progress.
- Assist with classroom maintenance.
- Support children with self care skills (i.e., toilet/diaper, feeding, etc.).
- Programming is provided in homes, in the community (driveway sessions, neighbourhood parks and public facilities, etc.), onsite, zoom sessions, etc.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum grade twelve diploma. Post-secondary education in a related field (2 year program minimum) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or special needs is preferred.
- Knowledge of positive behavior supports conflict resolutions skills and SOAR training information and strategies.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Must be willing to travel year-round in Calgary and surrounding areas.
- A reliable vehicle, auto-insurance with a minimum of $2,000,000.00 liability, and driver’s license is required.
