**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Partnership Manager is the lead position for the strategic operations of The Barrett Centre of Innovation in Sustainable Urban Agriculture (Barrett Centre). This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Barrett Centre Urban Farm as well as the industry, government, community, stakeholder and other key partnerships that will result in new opportunities, resources and funds for the Barrett Centre. The incumbent serves as the administrative lead for the centre and manages the team, and oversees the strategic initiatives, partnerships and community outreach for the Barrett Centre locally, nationally and globally. Thus, creating new opportunities, policies, and resources that will provide greater representation of urban farming projects within our community’s resources and food literacy projects developed by the Barrett Centre.
**Barrett Centre Urban Farm Operations***:
- Identify potential partners and determine suitability based on a rigorous and established set of criteria.
- Oversee the development of an annual operating plan to ensure realization and alignment with broader Barrett Centre goals
- Oversee the development and maintenance of strong, clear, and efficient operating procedures for the Urban Farm
- Oversee the development and preparation of regular reports on the current and future operation, success, and objectives of the Urban Farm.
- Oversee the development and creation of an annual Urban Farm Strategic & Implementation plan, including budget forecasting.
**Partnership development**:
- Work with community partners to continue to develop community needs and gap assessment.
- Identify potential partners and determine suitability based on a rigorous and established set of criteria. The Partnership Manager will take the lead on these opportunities or connect potential partners with the appropriate member of the college leadership team.
- Establish a strong network of contacts in across Ontario, Canada and globally that supports and advances the work of the Barrett Centre.
- Working with the Office of Development, will pursue opportunities to leverage funding and other resources that will advance the work of the Barrett Centre.
- Working with the International Office, identify and support international projects at home and abroad, with the goal of transferring and sharing knowledge with countries not typically able to access these types of resources.
- Manage external panel/ roundtable to advise on the work of the centre.
- Represent the Barrett Centre at industry, community and other events and activities
Represent the Barrett Centre on internal and external committees to help build stronger links with the community.
- Present publicly about the Barrett Centre, its activities, achievements and opportunities for partnerships.
**Centre administration**:
- Establish strong and clear operating procedures and processes for new farm.
- Lead development of annual strategic and annual operating plan to ensure realization of broader centre goals.
- Manage the Barrett Centre staff and student employees, including all necessary onboarding details.
- Manage the Barrett Centre budget to ensure all expenditures are tracked and all key milestones captured for sharing twice yearly with Barrett Foundation.
- Work with other members of the Weston Centre, Faculty of HHS and broader Durham College to identify new opportunities to collaborate across programs and departments.
- Support establishment of strong reporting practices to capture all Barrett Centre activities for reporting data and knowledge gained.
