Maintenance Supervisor

The **Maintenance Supervisor** plays a vital role as a key driver, leading the team that supports the **preventative and predictive maintenance** efforts and various projects to achieve production operations goals.

**Details**

The **Maintenance Supervisor** plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates the physical operations of the facility as set out by Company requirements and in accordance with related Code(s) and Regulation(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner. **Safety First**:

- Train and supervise maintenance staff.
- Lead maintenance and repair of the establishment's machinery and equipment both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Maintain and support the Preventive Maintenance program including schedules and procedures.
- Coordinate and support general administration and services such as signage, cleaning, repairs, maintenance, IR electrical scans TSSA compliance, ESA compliance and PSHR approvals.
- Ensure the maintenance staff and contractors follow both internal policies, procedures and SOP’s and adhere to external codes and regulations provide training as required.
- i.e. Scissor Lift and Fall Arrest certification, Forklift Certification, LOTO Training, Chemical Control, Contractor Orientation, Z432 Safeguarding of Machinery and CSA 460 Control of hazardous energy.
- Create the scope and participate in annual reviews of external equipment maintenance contracts.
- Work with key vendors to ensure optimal machinery performance.
- Plan and manage the facility's maintenance team and maintenance contractors.
- Ensure work is completed within approved maintenance budget and time frames.
- Oversee and maintain maintenance shop and associated maintenance equipment.
- Initiate and coordinate smaller capital projects from scope to completion and actively participate in other capital projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**What we’re looking for**
- **_ A Great Attitude_**:

- Leadership experience in a multi-trade industrial maintenance or related field.
- Mechanical Millwright and/or Electrical experience.
- Trade certification, Red Seal, or equivalency required in Mechanical or Electrical field.
- Previous leadership experience in multi-trade industrial maintenance or related field.
- Electrical, Mechanical and PLC experience (80% mostly Mechanical and 20% Electrical).
- Solid trouble shooting and able to work hands-on for repairs.
- Lead and be involved with the group during downtime emergencies.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Excellent understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles.
- Excellent understanding of good housekeeping and safety principles.
- Solid attention to detail and ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to present positive communications to departmental employees.
- Proven leadership and ability to influence behavior.
- Basic computer proficiency e.g. with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Maintenance Management software
- Schedule flexibility in working hours to be available when needed.
