City Gardens Landscape Construction ltd. is a Saskatoon Sk. company that specializes in residential landscape construction. City Gardens has been creating beautiful landscapes since 2006.

Our company is dedicated to serving our clients by bringing their visions to reality.

We are looking for an individual with at least 4 years of experience in landscape construction and who has a comprehensive understanding of all the necessary tasks involved.

**Required Experience**
- Minimum **4 years** in Landscape Construction showing increasing competency and responsibility. Must be able to prove competency in hardscape installation ( paving stone and retaining wall), construction methods, and execution. Must have experience combined with a desire to continually improve your hardscaping and landscape skills and ability to execute complete jobs.
- **10/10 Installer of Paving stones, steps, segmental retaining walls to be considered for the top range of the salary offered.**:

- Competent at calculating slopes to set up hardscapes.
- Class 5 license with a G endorsement or ability to obtain.
- This is a 100% on-the-tools working foreman position.
- Criminal Record check required.

**Preferred**

G endorsement or able to obtain G endorsement within 1 month of hiring.

Landscape or Horticultural Degree, Diploma, or Certificate. ICPI installer course. Not required but would be an asset.

Power mobile equipment operator certificate for skid steer or able to obtain.

We are looking for people with the following attributes:

- Have a strong interest in Landscape Construction and an appreciation for the built urban landscape.

**-Strong understanding and proof of competence with various hardscape installation practices. Your main skillset is paving stone, retaining wall and other hardscapes.**
- Strong knowledge and understanding of residential automatic irrigation system installation.
- Installing and finish grading topsoil, turf, installing plants and mulching.
- Ability to work Unsupervised and ensure that others are also working.
- Able to interpret landscape plans and explain and give directions to others.
- Able to communicate effectively and positively with clients.
- Safe and efficient skid steer, mini excavator, and other equipment operation.
- Safe and efficient operation of masonry saw and gas cut-off saw.
- Understanding of concrete formwork. Not required, but an asset.

**-Very competitive salary which includes the SUB program for the winter months. 95% of your full time income during the off season. 75%-95% depending on qualifications.**

What you will be doing while working with us:

- Installing paving stone and segmental retaining wall. You must be a 10/10 paving stone installer to be considered for the top range of the salary.
- Forming and pouring concrete ( mínimal but knowledge an asset)
- Reading and interpreting landscape plans.
- Communicating the plans with the rest of the crew.
- Leading a crew of 2-3 people.
- Effectively communicating with all stakeholders including clients, owner, other supervisors, suppliers.
- operating power equipment.
- maintaining a safe, clean and organized workspace.
- Maintenance on machinery.
- Rough Grading and finish grading topsoil.
- Installing irrigation systems.
- Building with natural stone.
- Planting trees, shrubs, perennials.
- Installing sod
- Installing crushed rock, mulch and fabric
- Installing low voltage lighting systems.
- Snow removal and other construction work in the winter months.

**Hours of work**:
Monday to Friday for a minimum of 8-10 hrs per day. 46-50 hrs/week

Overtime is paid daily on any hours over 8 hrs per day in summer

Very mínimal weekend work in the summertime. Only when rainy conditions persist and weekends are the only option to catch up or if a job is behind schedule.

On call weekend work in the winter.

Overnights in the winter during snow events during pushing and trucking. Some sidewalk maintenance may be required.

We generally perform our construction operations from May 1st to November 1st. Snow removal and other construction from Nov to April. You will be a part of the snow removal operation.

**Salary**: $27.00-$35.00 / hr plus the 75%-95% SUB program in the winter months - **paid 75% to 95% of full time income in the off season depending on qualifications. This is an important piece of you salary as it provides a guaranteed amount of pay in the event there is mínimal snow and other work to perform.**
