**Service Supervisor, Community Support Program**
**Permanent Full-Time**
**What is the job?**
In this role, you will supervise, assign and monitor home support workers/homemakers. Conduct contractual field visit requirements for all clients. Conduct onsite service assessments, review service requests, care plans, scheduling and supervision of a team of Home Support Workers/Homemakers. You will participate in the HR hiring process of the HSW.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Social Work degree and/or Social Service Worker
- Experienced in working with individuals with mental health diagnosis and addictions
- Experienced in working with the psychogeriatric population
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- Excellent intake assessment, formulation and case planning skills
- Strong leadership skills in working with a diverse field staff
- Strong service coordination and planning skills
- Demonstrated strength in family and individual work and case management
- Knowledge of community health and social services with established contacts with other agencies
- Superior telephone skills and the ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients, funders and employees by demonstrating excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with or diffuse caller conflicts and complaints
- Excellent problem solving skills, solution-focused approach and crisis intervention
- Culturally sensitive, interacting effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Comprehensive understanding of the home care system
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills
- You possess strong computer skills and attention to detail
- Ability to deal with multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure, adhering to deadlines
- Must be flexible and available to change schedule as VHA responds to client needs and staff availability
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Health and Safety Act, and relevant Human Rights information as it relates to safety in the field
- Ability to converse in a second language is a definite asset
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
