**Summary**

We are seeking a Transportation Supervisor to join our team at ESS Support Services. The **Supervisor of Transportation** is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the agency’s transportation services, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient transport for clients and program participants. This role reports to the Director of Financial Operations, supervises drivers and volunteer drivers, coordinates with the Transportation Coordinator, and collaborates with internal departments to ensure transportation aligns with client needs and agency goals. Acts as a back up to the Transportation Coordinator in their absence. The Transportation Supervisor plays a critical role in supports a culture of client safety as part of ESS key strategic goal and priority. Identifies client safety risk; supports a non-punitive reporting environment for reporting unsafe practices and/or errors; supports staff safety surveys and acts on the safety recommendations.

**Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to**:

- Oversee daily transportation operations, including vehicle usage, route planning, scheduling and driver assignment. Works closely with the Transportation Coordinator to ensure schedules are accurate, efficient and responsive to program needs.
- Registers new clients in Easycare and update AlayaCare softwares, completes registration, booking, and confirms with program staff. Responds to transportation inquiries, schedules and confirms agency transportation through Trapeze, and ensures accurate data management within the computerized transportation route planning system.
- Conducts vehicle inspections and ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed in collaboration with the drivers.
- Supervises Transportation staff (drivers and volunteer drivers), provides leadership, training, coaching and performance management. Participates in the recruitment and selection process of drivers.
- Approves and schedules drivers time off requests. Reviews and approves bi-weekly driver’s timesheets and payroll.
- Review paid and volunteer driver’s schedules for the day.
- Conduct ongoing and yearly performance evaluations of drivers.
- Collaborate with the Director of Financial Operations to evaluate service delivery, identify improvement opportunities and implement changes within transportation services.
- Refer clients to other agencies when necessary.
- Serves as back-up to Transportation Coordinator.
- Performs other duties as required. Participate in professional development opportunities, conferences/workshops, committees, and other agency initiatives as they relate to transportation services. Maintains knowledge, observes and practices appropriate procedures in regard to Fire, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards. Maintains and ensures that others maintain a safe, orderly and tidy work area.

**Qualifications**:

- 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory role; supervisory role within transportation services is an asset.
- Experience in using Trapeze Transportation Scheduling Software, an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Valid Drivers License and availability of reliable vehicle, is required
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proof of 2 dose COVID-19 vaccination is required, upon hire

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $26.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

**Experience**:

- Supervising in Transportation: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving License (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 50% (preferred)
