Circles & Squares Bakery Cafe is looking for a FOH barista to join our cafe team This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing business and team, as well as one of Toronto's most iconic bakeries

We are hiring for both our Davisville & East York locations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Interacting with customers and maintaining customer service standards, anticipating their needs
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following set procedures, especially food safety and hygiene policies.
- Use Point of Sale (POS) system to handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy with each transaction
- Bar service: brew coffee, prepare espresso beverages, monitor espresso quality
- Keep machines, equipment, work station neat and clean throughout the day
- Packing and serving takeout and dine-in orders
- Work Sandwich station: prepare, plate/pack, and deliver orders to customers.
- Communicate with coworkers to ensure efficient and exceptional service, and a positive work environment.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a barista in a cafe, restaurant, or similar food service establishment
- Strong understanding of food safety principles and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Passion for food and coffee
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role
- Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one upon hiring

Pay: $17.50-$18.50 per hour
