This position is based at our North York office in Toronto.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
As a Credit Risk Analyst at Sheaves Capital, you will be responsible for assessing credit risk, ensuring compliance, and streamlining loan processes. Your key responsibilities include:
**1. Credit Risk Assessment and Application Review**
- Assess financial stability and operational reliability to determine credit risk.
**2. Document Collection and Merchant Communication**
**3. Compliance and Monitoring**
- Monitor compliance with credit agreements and identify potential breaches.
- Report compliance issues to the credit committee and follow up with merchants to ensure adherence to credit terms.
**4. Risk Mitigation Strategies**
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce exposure to credit risk.
- Work with internal teams to create effective risk management plans.
**5. Workflow Management**
- Balance workflow to ensure efficient processing and a high standard of customer service.
**6. Monitoring and Reporting**
- Monitor merchant loan portfolios for emerging risks and escalate concerns as needed.
- Generate reports on risk exposure to support decision-making and compliance.
**7. Cross-Functional Collaboration**
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth loan processing and compliance with internal policies.
- Contribute to the development of underwriting standards and risk assessment processes.
**8. Industry Knowledge**
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competition, and market dynamics related to merchant financing.
- Share insights and recommendations with the team to support continuous improvement.
**Skills and Qualifications**
- Strong decision-making abilities and sound judgment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and multitask effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in French is a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
Ability to commute/relocate:
- North York, ON M3J 2G9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- DCS / DEC (required)
**Experience**:
- Underwriting: 1 year (preferred)
- Risk Analysis: 1 year (preferred)
**Language**:
- French (preferred)
