Maintenance Technician

**Overview**:
Performs all maintenance related work assignments to insure all facilities & equipment are properly maintained in a safe and reliable working order.

Completes all scheduled preventative maintenance / work assignments and supports final repair results with detailed documentation.
- Maintenance of the facility which includes (but is not limited to) all conveyor components such as rollers, belts, motors, switches, photo eyes, sprockets, chains, pneumatic/hydraulic valves, forklifts, pallet jacks, electric and manual carts, modifications and repairs to racking, loading docks, overhead doors, all facility ventilation and air handling equipment, air compressors, and other equipment related to the facility.
- Reports to Maintenance Manager operational repairs and parts or equipment that need to be ordered to perform repairs or when inventory is low.
- Develops skills needed to perform daily duties as a maintenance technician while maintaining a positive attitude towards all L.C. employees.
- Works along side contractors in performing repairs, modifications, new installations and service contracts while not disrupting daily production.
- Updates maintenance records and inputs work order information in order to maintain Preventative Maintenance program.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Adheres to all Tech Data Canada, Provincial and Federal Health and Safety Policies, procedures and standards.

- Willingness to work all shifts and be on call 24 hours.
- Complete knowledge of conveyor systems and operations which include mechanical, electrical and motor control logic.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and the public.
- Able to effectively use relevant material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards of the trade and necessary safety precautions
- Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.

**Knowledge/Skill/Ability/Must have**
- Preferred Educational level: HS Diploma and Certificate of Qualification
- College or equivalent diploma
- Specialties/Major Subjects: Electrical/Mechanical, Maintenance, Operations
- Type of work experience: Warehouse/Manufacturing
- Years of experience in the industry: 5 years in related fields and Maintenance
- A minimum of five (5) years experience is required as a multi-craft technician
- Other related experiences: MHE/scissor lift certification MHE/scissor lift certification

**Additional skills**:

- Customer focus, Computer literacy, hands on within a Logistics Centre
- Special Training Required: Mechanical, electrical, motor logic, conveyor systems, facility, AC - MHE Certification is an asset
