Payroll Analyst

Overview:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the newly created position of Payroll Analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting the payroll team, auditing and reconciling transactions, maintaining timekeeping system, payroll reporting and analysis.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Process, audit and upload multiple files for all payroll groups, including commission, hours, employee recognition, vacation, etc.
- Audit payroll records and processes to ensure accuracy
- Identify potential issues and make recommendations for improved efficiencies
- Monitor and maintain integrity of the time & attendance system
- Review payroll data and documents for inefficiencies and errors
- Reconcile and balance payroll transactions daily
- Provide data entry support to the payroll team
- Advanced Excel - reporting, creation and maintenance of tracking sheets, pivot tables, implementing complex searches and providing analytical recommendations based on data
- Create and generate custom reports to the business, as required
- General payroll tasks and other duties, as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Advanced excel skills and demonstrated ability to provide high quality reports
- 1-2 years of Canadian payroll experience preferred
- General knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and processes
- Accounting experience would be considered an asset
- Excellent Analytical skills
- Problem Resolution expertise
- PCP designation or in-progress
