Recycling Assistant

**Who we are**:
Waste Control Service (WCS) is a locally owned and operated recycling and waste management services company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste. We offer collection services for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region. We have a head office and shop in Coquitlam B.C. and two recycling yards in North Vancouver where we primary process some of the recycling we collect from our customers, one of which operates as a recycling depot and secure shredding facility open to the community as well.

**Who we are looking for**:
Our team is growing, and we are seeking an individual passionate about the environment to work out of our North Vancouver recycling facility. The position will look after recycling depot day-to-day activity such as depot Our team is growing, and we are seeking a Recycling Administrator to work out of our North Vancouver recycling facility. The position will fall under our Recycling Division and will look after a range of administrative duties such as tending to recycle depot walk-in & phone inquiries, receiving & verifying shipments, processing invoices, inventory & supplies, depot banking, equipment & depot sales, organizing monthly team lunches and assisting and supporting the team with administrative

**Schedule**:
16 hrs. / week

- Class 5 drivers license (driving required with company vehicle i.e., banking tasks, picking up office & shop supplies, team lunch etc.).

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with purchaser(s) to conduct monthly office & shop inventory, receive and verify shipments, process invoices and manage digital filing, and organize supplies. Driving required with company vehicle.
- Depot banking (enter data for weekly sales reconcile, manage and replenish petty cash)
- Recycling route paperwork completions, enter commercial recycling drop off tickets, print route sheets, file dump tickets, make customer phone calls.
- Prepare equipment maintenance & shop inspection forms, manage and maintain digital filing.
- Be knowledgeable of incoming and outgoing schedule of regular recycling commodity materials and contact partners as required.
- Record and arrange getting pre/post trip inspection reports and engine end hours to the shop
- Troubleshoot and act as point of contact for contracted facility services (alarm system company, phones, internet, pest control, cleaners)
- Organize monthly team appreciation lunches.
- Maintain facility (e.g. office, yards & supply room laminated signage & supplies)
- Facility closing/lock up duties.
- Support the recycling team with other administrative tasks as needed.
