Retail Sales Associate

Are you passionate about coffee and love helping people? Gold Roast Coffee is looking for a **Part-Time Retail Sales Associate** to join our team in Waterloo If you're eager to learn, enjoy engaging with customers, and have a knack for sales, we want to hear from you.

As a Retail Sales Associate, you'll be the face of Gold Roast Coffee, guiding customers through our exciting range of mid-to-high-end residential espresso machines, coffee accessories, and gourmet coffee beans. You'll play a key role in helping our customers find the perfect coffee experience for their homes.

**What You'll Be Doing**:
**Customer Engagement & Sales**:

- Assisting customers with purchase decisions by providing in-depth product knowledge (espresso machines, brewing tools, coffee, etc.). Many of our machines are ready for demo, so you'll get to show them off
- Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Answering showroom phone and assisting customers over the phone.
- Assisting with incoming and outgoing residential machine repairs.
- Helping walk-in commercial and wholesale customers.

**Showroom Operations**:

- Performing opening and closing duties.
- Maintaining a clean and organized showroom with weekly cleaning tasks.
- Maintaining retail stocking and creating appealing displays.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing back of house stock.
- Assist with incoming and outgoing warehouse orders.

**Administrative Support**:

- Performing data entry and filing as assigned.

**Other Duties (as assigned)**:

- Assisting with online order shipments.
- Participating in new product testing.
- Lending a hand to other Gold Roast departments as needed.

**What We're Looking For**:

- **Experience**: Coffee knowledge, including the ability to pull a shot of espresso and froth milk, is ideal. Previous retail experience and experience with point of sale technology is a strong asset.

- **Availability**: Consistent availability on **Saturdays** (10am-4pm) and around holidays is a critical requirement for this role, as this position is specifically designed to ensure adequate showroom coverage during our busiest period. We are closed most statutory holidays.
- **Physical Requirements**: Ability to lift 30lbs and assist customers in carrying purchases to their car.
- **Transportation**: Must be able to reliably get to and from our store location at A19-550 Parkside Dr. Waterloo.
- **Basic math skills** for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- **Language**: Must be proficient in English, both written and oral.

**Position Details**:

- **Hours**: Part-time, 2-3 shifts per week, 15-22 hours/week
- **Shift Schedules**: Opening shifts - Expect to start 10 mins before opening. Closing shifts - Expect to finish 10-30 mins after closing.

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 22 per week
