We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to support the operation of the GMP Biologic team for our new Clinical Trial Material Facility with the Human Health Therapeutics (HHT) Research Centre. The Maintenance Technician would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician are preventive maintenance and corrective actions related to equipment (process and supporting) and utilities of Clinical Trial Material Facility (CTMF). Calibration activities could be taken into consideration.
Main challenges are:
- Diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance of production equipment and mechanical systems of certain analytical instruments and warehouse equipment. Perform daily inspections of mechanical systems;
- Provide technical support to GMP production, GMP activities and participate in engineering runs and validation of equipment and systems. In case of failure, informs manager and documents non-conformities, investigates and determines efficient CAPAs to avoid recurrence;
- Accompany outside contractors to supervise their work. Ensures proper documentation and quality of work performed that contracted installation and maintenance services are performed to satisfactory specifications;
- Actively participates in shutdown activities (shutdown of production activities to allow for maintenance of utilities and re-certification of certain process and supporting equipment) and subsequent restart;
- Write/assist in the preparation of maintenance plans for new equipment and utilities, revise existing maintenance plans as per GMP and applicable change control procedures;
- Prepare annual maintenance schedules based on facility equipment and utilities list, manufacturers recommendations, GMP requirements and current industry standards;
- Operate mechanical systems and building utilities (Purified water, water for injection (WFI), compressed air system, Effluent treatment system etc.).
**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
College diploma or diploma of professional studies from a technical institution in electro-mechanics, mechanics or industrial maintenance.
A relevant combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Professional Provincial Government certification (ex: Class C for electro-mechanics) could be an asset.

**Experience**:
- Significant experience working as a maintenance technician in a GMP manufacturing environment, troubleshooting manufacturing process problems.
**Assets**:
- Experience in automation;
- Experience with industrial PLC ladder logic and HMI programming language.
**Condition of Employment**:
- Secret (II); and
- Must be able to handle/lift 20kg.
