**Shop Manager**

Diversified Transportation is looking for a Shop Manager to join our team in Fort McMurray. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, the Shop Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to shop employees while assisting in maintaining, adjusting, repairing, and testing on-highway vehicles in keeping with Diversified Transportation and Ministry of Transportation standards.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all employees are following company policies and procedures; communicate new safety bulletins; conduct Tool Box Meetings and monthly safety inspections
- Be aware of Health & Safety issues and ensure all staff can work in a safe manner, reporting issues as necessary and ensuring all staff adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures
- Coordinates the mentoring of apprentices; ensure monthly facility audits/inspections are completed; provide final approval of all staff training
- Participate in hiring process, manage staffing requirements; schedule and balance all vacation and leaves; ensure New Hire Orientation is conducted for all new employees; track new employees progress and end of probation dates
- Monitor performance of all technicians; conduct employee performance appraisals; coach under performing employees; assign tasks/jobs to Foreman, Lead hand, and technicians; address disciplinary issues, utilizing the assistance of Human Resources when necessary
- Responsible for maintaining facility budget and inventory; Monitor and review all work orders and closing WOs as appropriate; Ensure PM’s/recall/campaign on time completion; Review equipment cost history and ensure the efficient utility of assets, including buses and facilities
- Coordinate all outside repairs with local vendors and monitor costs; and manage Maintenance and Shop processes and explore opportunities for efficiencies
- Communicate effectively with all DTL employees including Senior Management Team, Business Partners, and subordinates; Develop business relationships with vendors
- Monitor KPIs and attend weekly meetings; Attend Monthly Shop/Safety meetings

**Qualification and Skills**:

- Licensed technical certification - Blue Seal HD Technician or Red Seal HD Technician with minimum 5 years heavy equipment experience
- Experience with maintenance scheduling and planning in a fast paced environment
- Experience leading a team in remote locations would be considered an asset
- Clear criminal record
- Demonstrated ability to supervise up to 100 employees
- Must have proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite
- Must be an exceptional communicator via all communication mediums
- Experience working in a culturally diverse workforce would be considered an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
