As we continue to expand our footprint globally, we are seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead our technology efforts and drive business transformation through cutting-edge digital initiatives.
**Position Overview**
As the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Avania, you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing the company's information technology strategy, systems, and operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of technology solutions that support our business goals, enhance operational efficiency, and drive innovation. Your leadership will be vital in building a robust IT infrastructure, fostering a culture of digital transformation, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
The newly created and key role of CIO will report directly to CEO and will involve the following;
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Strategic Leadership**: Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with Avania's business objectives, growth plans, and industry regulations.
- **Technology Roadmap**: Create and manage the technology roadmap, ensuring that IT investments are aligned with business priorities and help Avania maintain a competitive edge in the global market.
- **Innovation & Transformation**: Identify and implement emerging technologies and digital solutions that enhance business processes, improve patient safety, and drive innovation in medical device and pharmaceutical services.
- **Team Leadership**: Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT team, ensuring that talent development, collaboration, and continuous improvement are prioritized.
- **Cybersecurity & Compliance**: Ensure the highest standards of data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (such as FDA, ISO, HIPAA) in the handling of sensitive medical and pharmaceutical data.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with other senior executives, business leaders, and department heads to ensure IT initiatives are effectively supporting business processes and delivering measurable results.
- **Budget Management**: Develop and manage the IT department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments and prudent management of resources.
- **Vendor Management**: Oversee relationships with external technology partners, vendors, and service providers to ensure that they meet Avania’s performance, security, and compliance requirements.
- **Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery**: Establish and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring mínimal disruption to operations in the event of unforeseen incidents.
**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
**Experience**:
- 20+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior executive position (CIO, VP of IT, etc.).
- Strong background in technology strategy, digital transformation, and IT infrastructure, preferably within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries.
- Proven success in managing IT teams and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, HIPAA) and best practices in data security and compliance.
**Skills & Competencies**:
- Expertise in IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Experience in managing large-scale IT projects, budgets, and vendor contracts.
- Leadership capabilities, with a focus on developing talent and fostering a culture of innovation.
