**The Opportunity - Costing and Inventory Analyst**
We are currently recruiting for a **Costing and Inventory Analyst **for our Stoney Creek facility - responsible for the costing function and the control of production inventory.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities - Costing and Inventory Analyst**
- Ensure the plant adheres to all government regulations regarding safe food production, ensuring the highest standards of food safety are applied plant-wide
- Assist in month-end closing, analyze COGS, inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward
- Provide analysis on production volume trends
- Review and track production efficiencies on a daily basis
- Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
- Analyze, interpret and investigate cost changes and root cause; purchase prices, production and labour changes
- Plan, execute and reconcile year-end inventory counts
- Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls
- Analysis of production variances and yields through scheduled work orders
- Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts by customer type by division
- Perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses
- Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management
- Maintain costs for all product categories and inputs
- Summarize and maintain manufacturing costs and absorption, including the calculation of absorption rates
- Monitoring and maintaining current inventory levels, including reconciling stock counts to computer reports
- Ability to factor number of constraints: Shelf life maximization, storage limitations, frequency order patterns
- Other related responsibilities
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**:
- Strong analytical & MS Excel skills are essential
- Experience with Dynamics NAV & JET reports is an asset
- Experience on the production floor in a manufacturing environment, particularly in food, is an asset
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Excellent organizational, time management, tracking and follow up skills
- Attention to detail is mandatory as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interact with others with a can-do attitude
- Ability to maintain the highest standards of food safety and confidentiality regarding production techniques and processes
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of food safety strategy
**Base Compensation 70K - 80K (dependent upon experience)**
