We are currently seeking a Junior Building Science Consultant for our Vancouver office.
**Responsibilities**:
- Undertakes field review of both new construction and rehabilitation projects to confirm that the construction of the building envelope assemblies is proceeding in accordance with approved mock-ups and design documents- Prepares site visit reports to generate Action Lists of outstanding deficiencies and track their resolution- Undertakes preliminary review of previously submitted drawing set to confirm the extent to which our previous comments have been incorporated- Attends client meeting with Senior Tech staff and write meeting memo documenting discussion around building envelope- Undertakes field testing of selected elements of building envelope assemblies to confirm compliance with specified performance standards (primarily water infiltration and air leakage) and prepare reports outlining results of these tests- Interfaces with architects, general contractors and sub-trades- Reviews submittals form sub-trades- Assists in field work associated with assessment of existing buildings and the preparation of building envelope assessment and roof reports- Assists in field work associated with preparation of reserve fund studies and facility assessment reports
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Diploma in Building Science- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is desirable- Ability to handle multiple projects with the ability to effectively prioritize- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English is required- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a strong customer service commitment- Strong relationship/interpersonal skills required- Construction review experience is considered as an asset- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
