Executive Assistant

_**Position Overview**:_
The Executive Assistant maintains the Executive Director’s agenda and assists in various administrative tasks. The incumbent ensures efficient coordination and support to executives, allowing them to focus on their managerial responsibilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support and assistance to the Executive Director.
- Maintain Executive Director’s agenda and assist in planning appointments, board meetings, conferences etc.
- Attend meetings and keep minutes.
- Receive and screen phone calls and redirect them when appropriate.
- Receive incoming communication on behalf of senior staff and board, reviews, contents, determines importance, and summaries and/or distributes contents to appropriate staff.
- Develop written materials and verbal presentations for Executive Director, and other groups upon request.
- Handle confidential documents ensuring they remain secure.
- Prepare invoices or financial statements and provide assistance in bookkeeping.
- Maintain and file electronic and paper records ensuring information is organized and easily accessible.
- Make travel arrangements for executives as required.
- Other administrative tasks as requested.
**Behavioural Competencies**:
- Strong knowledge of Wet’suwet’en Clan/House Group lineage and House Chief Traditions
- Strong knowledge of the Wet’suwet’en Culture and Traditional functions and able to participate when required.
- Ability to deal with high pressure situations daily.
- Concern for Order reflects an underlying drive to reduce uncertainty in the surrounding environment.
Planning, and organizing involves proactively planning, establishing priorities and order of operations.
- **Experience and Education Requirements**:_
- Excellent computer skills - Word, Excel, Power Point
- Certificatory or 4 years relevant experience in Administration/Secretarial
- Knowledge of standard office procedures
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to deal with multiple tasks
- Ability to exercise tact and judgement and to work with confidential documents
- Valid BC Drivers License and reliable vehicle
- Criminal Records Check
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week

- Smithers, BC V0J 2N1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
