Hydrovac Operator

Fairway Electrical / Fairway Utilities is looking to expand our team of dedicated field employees and we are currently seeking experienced hydrovac operators for work within the power and communications industry.

Applicants must be punctual, safety-conscious with a positive attitude, and have a strong work ethic.

**Requirements**:

- Valid DZ class license with a clean driver’s abstract is required. AZ is considered an asset.
- 3 years driving experience preferred
- IUOE local 793 member in good standing, or will be required to become a member
- Safety certificates (working at heights, first aid, worker health & safety awareness, ground disturbance)

**Duties**
- Safety oriented, proactive and positive approach in the workplace
- Minimum 2 years experience operating hydrovac
- Relevant experience or construction experience and knowledge of utility installations, power, communications, and traffic infrastructure
- Various support work connected to excavation required
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues and equipment, including preventative maintenance.
- Complete tasks associated with daylighting excavation, trenching and shoring
- Complete all required paperwork on a daily basis
- Ability to drive in all weather and road conditions
- Good reading, verbal and written skills
- Self-motivated, collaborative and able to work in a team environment

**Working Conditions**
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 60 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces
- Work environment: outdoors, public areas, construction sites, or similar
- Exposure to all seasonal weather, work areas that are dirty, dusty, wet, and noisy

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.97-$36.62 per hour
