**What You Will Do**

At Econoler International we’ve established a climate change and sustainable energy finance practice to respond to our client’s growing needs for guidance in the areas of climate change mitigation actions financing mechanisms and the design of climate financing strategies.

As an International Climate Finance Consultant, you will be working on various sustainable energy and climate financing projects involving the design, implementation, monitoring of various green, sustainable energy and climate change financing instruments or programs adapted to the particular needs of our international clients which include international financial institutions (IFIs) and local financial institutions (LFIs).

The objectives of this role:

- Assess market barriers to implement climate/sustainable energy investments on a larger scale and in particular those specific barriers that prevent local financiers from providing targeted financing.
- Conduct feasibility studies, design, and implementation of diverse climate/sustainable finance products and mechanisms that target barriers to climate/sustainable energy project financing.
- Design, develop, and provide technical assistance for implementing climate/sustainable energy finance products, mechanisms, and programs for IFIs and LFIs.
- Develop, design, and implement environmental and social management systems (ESMS) in LFIs.
- Provide training to the financial institution staff on the development and implementation of climate/sustainable energy finance products and programs as well as on ESMS.
- Act as advisor and support projects in North and Latin America and beyond as needed.

**What We Are Looking For**

Profile
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, French an asset
- Location anywhere in the Americas (remote), with up to 20% travel
- Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in a finance related field, including at least five (5) supporting climate and impact investment
- Experience developing and providing technical assistance for implementing IFI-supported climate/sustainable energy finance products and programs
- Experience developing or implementing energy efficiency/renewable energy/climate finance products at the level of Commercial Banks or National Development Banks
- Experience working with or in collaboration with international financial institutions (IFIs) as well as bilateral institutions in developing countries and emerging economies in Latin America and the Caribbean

Assets
- Experience in agile project management in a cross-functional team
- Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team spread out geographically
- Team Player: show the ability to work collaboratively, interact effectively with clients, colleagues and business partners from diverse cultural backgrounds and build strong and trusted relationships
- High attention to details and demonstrated ability to exercise initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to engage all levels of stakeholders
- Experience in areas such as climate change mitigation, decarbonization, GHG accounting, climate adaptation, or climate resilience will be considered a significant advantage
- Experience in banking, private equity funds and/or financial products including sustainable finance
- International working experience
- Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills, and experience with development of business proposal methodologies
- Excellent abilities in communication at all levels, logic, and innovation in own work
- Experience in industrial decarbonization, energy and resource efficiency, industrial processes, and climate risk management
- Knowledge and experience in developing, designing, and implementing environmental and social management system (ESMS) in LFIs
Practical experience with the investment cycle for private sector climate projects in emerging markets
