**Job Summary**:
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing cooking equipment, pots and pans and small wares. Assists in washing dishes after dinner, and performs general and special cleaning duties in the kitchen.

**Responsibilities**:

- Load, run and unload the dish machine.
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
- Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.
- Keep dish room clean and organized.
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
- Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designed times.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
- Deliver and replenish staff meals in the staff room and ensure the cleanliness of the serving area in the staff room.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Executive chef or immediate supervisor.
- Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand
- Sweep Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
- Pots and scrub floor.
- Make sure all hand sinks are clean, paper towel installed and hand soap at all times.

**Skills/Qualifications**:
No previous restaurant experience required.

Knowledge of WHIMS is recommended.

**Physical Demands**:
Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending

**Working Condition**:
Exposed to noise, high temperature and moisture while working in the kitchen and pot washing area
