**The Camp Counsellor “Counsellor” is responsible to assist in the planning, delivery and supervision of the Camp programs and participants; ensuring compliance with HIGH FIVE® standards, the Health and Safety Regulations; and Municipal Policies and Procedures**

**Compensation and Work Term**: $16.80 to $18.23 per hour
May to August
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma preferred, however high school students will be considered based on maturity, skills and experience.
- Standard First Aid, CPR “C” with AED or willing to obtain.
- Experience working with children and youth.
- HIGH FIVE ®: Principles of Healthy Child Development or willing to obtain.
- Valid and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Able to commit to the full term of employment and be available Monday to Friday From 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
**Responsibilities**
- Work in collaboration with all camp staff to plan, organize and implement camp programs and supervision of all activities
- Act as a leader within camp;, accountable to the |Senior Team Lead for all activities; ensuring the safety and participation of children.
- Interact with the Camp participants in a positive and professional manner in the delivery of the program; incorporate the principles of HIGH FIVE ® regarding healthy child development.
- Comply with the Child Care Legislation and Child Abuse Policies as outlined at staff training.
- Advise the Senior Team Lead and/or Recreation Program Coordinator of any problems related to equipment, programs or public inquiries and shall report any unacceptable behaviour to the Recreation Program Coordinator and/or inclusion Staff or Senior Team Lead
- Adhere to high standards of ethical behaviour and demonstrate their understanding that their personal actions impact the public’s perception of the Municipality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Team Lead and/or Recreation Program Coordinator or designate.
