**Developmental Service Worker**
Kinnect Support Services is a social services partner that provides trained staff support to various organizations in need of relief staff. Our team offers superior support to Agencies, Organizations, and Institutions that work with adolescents youth, adults, and seniors who experience behavioral, social, emotional, physical, and psychiatric difficulties.
**Areas of Service**:
1. Toronto-GTA
2. York Region
**Work Responsibilities**:
- Support individuals in achieving their full potential by facilitating relationships, skills and roles which promote people’s participation as valued members of their community
- Have an understanding of supporting individuals with complex support needs in a sensitive and respectful manner, in all areas of their lives
- Duties will include daily routines, recreation, behavioral management, and presenting life skills education.
- Daily supervision of residents.
- Assist in the work that is involved in daily home life which includes but are not limited to attending appointments with clients, completing household chores, and general maintenance
- Ensuring clients are following prescribed medication routines (i.e. witnessing the client taking their medications, documenting where applicable).
- Complete daily logs, incident reports, medication charts and other legal documents. MUST have a solid command of the English language and the ability to effectively articulate and document is mandatory.
- Comply with all policies and procedures as established by the agency / Ministry and adhering to Health and Safety standards.
- Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to attending appointments with clients, completing household chores, adhering to Health and Safety standards.
**_Qualifications: _**
You must have:
- Must have a reliable source of transportation
- Must be a graduate from a recognized College/University
- Level 1 First Aid / CPR Certificate.
- Must have valid crisis training**:CPI or UMAB or Safe Management** **Certification, or willingness to obtain.**:
- Experience working with Autism, Mental Health Behavioral, and Developmentally Delayed clients in a Group Home Setting
- A current Police Reference Check or willing to get a Vulnerable Sector Criminal reference check.
- Considerable experience working in a transitional house setting.
- Must have a Valid G2 or G License

- Can work in a team environment.
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.
- Positive public relation skills, including the ability to establish and maintain harmonious relations with residents and families.
- Demonstrates ability to organize workload and to respond efficiently and effectively to unexpected workload and situations.
- Demonstrates ability to operate related equipment

**Experience**:
- Developmental Support Work: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Naloxone / Narcan training (preferred)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) (required)
- CPR Certification (required)
