IT Technician

We pride ourselves on quality, locally fabricating and installing custom countertops for residential and commercial projects alike.

**Position Summary**

The main focus of this job is to maintain the IT infrastructure (computers, servers, network equipment, etc) and support employees using IT equipment. This job is based in our Victoria office but will involve travel and overnight or longer visits to some other sites in our network on Vancouver Island and Main Land.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
- Connecting and configuring peripherals (printers, scanners, etc)
- Creating, and managing user accounts in Active Directory.
- Network cabling and terminating.
- Other hardware and networking tasks that come up
- Assisting the System Administrator
- Larger oversight and planning of projects like hardware refreshes, with support from management

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of experience working in IT operations
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to travel
- Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
- Solutions-minded, upbeat and positive

The applicant should be familiar with:

- Setting up and configuring new windows computers, installing programs etc.
- Windows 7 and windows 10 desktop operating systems
- Windows server 2012, 2016, and 2019 operating systems
- Comfortable swapping out internal computer components
- Familiarity with computer disk imaging software, ie Clonezilla,
- Basic networking fundamentals: DNS, TCP-IP, LANS, VLANs, routing, wifi, etc.

In addition, familiarity with the following would be an asset
- Active directory sites
- Active directory Group Policy Management
- Cisco ios
- Fortigate firewalls
- Vmware esxi server
- MS SQL server
- Epicor ERP system
- Exchange server
- Powershell scripting
- iPhone setup and administration.

**Salary**: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
