The Granite Club is looking for a Bicycle Program Instructor who will be responsible for providing creative and innovative quality programs for our bicycle classes to Members’ children enrolled in the Kidzone.

Primary Responsibilities
- Create lesson plans which will teach students to learn how to ride their bike or improve their riding skills by the end of season
- Keep bicycles and equipment in good working condition.
- Guide participants through the creation process to create routines and acts for parent shows.
- Plan, organize and deliver high quality safe and stimulating gymnastics lessons for all levels of participants.
- Provide excellent care of children, ensuring that a safe, creative and inviting learning environment is maintained.
- Ensure a clean, neat, and sanitary environment.
- Set-up room with age-appropriate equipment for program.
- Supervise children at all times while in the instructor’s care (classroom, playground, commons, walks and pool).
- Complete weekly program plans, specific to age/skill set, across all developmental domains (physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and language).
- Complete weekly program plans for outdoor/group play or special events and activities.
- Complete daily observations as part of an ongoing assessment report for each child.
- Update photos of daily activities on ClassDojo app (twice a week minimum).
- Complete daily attendance record.
- Order, prepare and provide a variety of snacks and refreshments to children ensuring a nut free environment is maintained, while being familiar of all participants’ dietary restrictions.
- Complete a playground inspection as needed, prior to bringing participants to the playground.
- Remove and report any damaged or unsafe toys, games and equipment to Supervisor.
- Attend monthly staff meetings related to the program and give session feedback to Supervisor.
- Attend two professional development events.
- Provide daily updates to the Child Activities Supervisor.
- Handle general inquiries about the program.
- Establish positive relationships with parents and provide weekly updates on their child’s progress.
- Greet, interact and maintain open communication with families on a daily basis. Provide parents with updates about child’s day as well as resources and tools to assist with learning and development at home.
- Maintain positive and appropriate attitude in demanding situations.
- Responsible for requesting and/or obtaining supplies as needed.
- Assist with other programs as needed (drop off care, birthday parties, front desk, holiday programs).
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12.
- ECE Diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Previous experience working at a bike riding facility is an asset.
- Previous experience coaching Recreational gymnastics classes is an asset.
- Experience working with children (infants, toddlers and preschool ages) essential.
- First Aid and C.P.R. Certification required.
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
- Dependable, responsible and punctual.

Work Schedule
- Commitment may be required for summer and March break camps; evenings, weekends and holidays.
