Cleve’s Source for Sports has been locally owned and operated for over 75 years and we are looking to grow our team Our New Glasgow retail store is currently seeking a results-driven Assistant Manager to help lead operational activities and store staff. Full time position is available immediately.
The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Store Manager in planning and executing strategies to achieve the goals of Cleve's Source for Sports. Responsibilities also include monitoring the progress of periodic store goals, mentoring/coaching staff, and working closely with customers. You should also be able to promptly resolve customer issues and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as an Assistant Manager, you should stay up-to-date with product features and maintain our store’s visual appearance in high standards.
Ultimately, the duties of an Assistant Manager are to strive for excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the Store Manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers
- Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service
- Coach and support new and existing Sales Associates
- Maintain organized and presentable store conditions
- Comply with inventory control procedures
- Identify areas to improve store performance (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)
- Assess customer needs and provide assistance and information on product features
- “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
- Remain knowledgeable on all product offerings and discuss available options
- Build productive trust relationships with customers
**Requirements**:
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative or similar role
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Proficiency in English
- Basic Math skills
- Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Availability to work flexible shifts
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
