Overview:
Excess Underwriting is a leading MGA headquartered in Markham Ontario. Consisting of four key divisions, Excess does business coast-to-coast.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations, the AVP of Operations will provide strategic, business and operational support to the team. This role encompasses advising on the development of processes and procedures, issue and customer resolution, strategic overview and analytics, project requirements definitions and team leadership.

**Responsibilities**:
What You'll Get To Do

Operations, Business Support, Issues and Escalations Resolution
- Collaborate with the team to evaluate current workflows, recognize gaps and issues and advise on the development of new more efficient workflows/processes
- Overall management of the day-to-day operations

Strategic Direction
- Serve as a thought partner to the SVP of Operations, to implement operational strategies
- Collaborate with Operations and Senior Business Analyst to improve operational and financial reports to support the business across all lines to ensure meeting our targets
- Analyze reports and provide council and direction on potential issues or concerns that are trending with Senior Leaders

Project, Business Analysis and Technology
- Responsible for partnering with the business users to understand processes and underlying informative and/or process automation needs
- Direct projects on behalf of the business, working with business leaders and various service providers to implement new technology and/or business solutions
- Responsible to recognize and handle issues and risks related to project or system issues

What Leads To Your Success
- University degree/college diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and related experience in Operations and Business Analysis
- 5+ years insurance experience preferably in a brokerage environment
- In-depth insight of Lloyd’s binders and Lineage
