**Position Summary**:
The Quality Assurance Co-op Student will work directly with Quality Assurance Technicians to provide real-time technical support to the Operations Teams and other support staff assigned. The position will require providing Operations Teams and Supervisors with the necessary information to produce products that meet PCB’s food safety and quality standards at the lowest cost in a timely manner. The individual plays a key role in assisting in the identification, investigation, and follow up activities of PCB continuous improvement program. Will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Provide Operations Team Members, Production Supervisors, and Maintenance with technical resources in areas of product quality and food safety during on-going production, as well as in noncompliance situations. Provide direction on restarts, assist with non-compliance investigations and product holds.
- Perform verification audits and analyses on finished and intermediate products, ingredients, packaging and systems and follow safety, sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices while performing tests.
- Conduct investigations into consumer complaints.
- Perform, record and report verification audit findings in areas of Pest Prevention, Sanitation, GMP’s, Pre-Op Inspection/Testing, Plant Environment, HACCP, SSOP’s, Net Weight, Metal Detection Audit, Documentation Audit, Allergen Testing, and Ingredient COA Verification.
- Calibration and maintenance of Quality measurement equipment in production and in the QA Lab.
- Provide information and data to support the QA group in assigned project areas or Quality Programs (SMEs).
- Use databases to hold and release product, provide non-compliance ingredient and packaging information to responsible parties, and report and store audit reports.
- Utilize the Quality Department resources to help in the identification and resolution of issues
- Track and circulate individual dispositions for appropriate recommendation approvals.
- Coordinate approved recommendations for dispositioned materials.
- Issue written instructions for reprocessing dispositioned materials maintaining full traceability.
- Release of aged finished goods for shipping based on customer approvals.
- Oversee the tracker for dispositioned materials (SME for Hold and Disposition Program).
- Ensure timely collection of disposition samples.
- Generate age product review list, coordinate evaluation.
- SME for Glass and Hard plastic audits program.
- Create yellow label templates when needed. Ensure liquidation status in IMS and liquidation tab of tracking log is up to date.
- Review of pallets to be translated, changing status if required (i.e. liquidation, aged, etc.)
- Pest Control contract/program.
- Other duties as assigned when needed.

**Skills and Knowledge Required**:

- Working towards a diploma in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics or Food Science.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, food safety, GLP’s, GMP’s, sanitation, and lab techniques preferred.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with a PC and demonstrated math/statistical computation skills.
- Ability to work safely with chemicals, as well as in and around equipment.
- Ability to compile, analyze and present collected data in summary form as well as being capable of performing a variety of tests.
