JOB DESCRIPTION:
**Cultivation Technician Responsibilities**:

- Work alongside the Master Grower and cultivation team for all production activities and tasks from seed to sale
- Execute and follow standard operating procedures, regulations, and legislation pertaining to the cannabis industry.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment for all cultivation and sanitation tasks.
- Accurately complete records and documentation for all production and cultivation activities.
- Vegetative propagation and the care of cuttings.
- Trim and maintain the health of live plants throughout the growth cycle.
- Irrigation and watering using manual and automated systems.
- Monitor and observe cannabis plants at all stages following integrated pest management and prevention practices.
- Assist and conduct research projects and report findings with senior cultivation team members.
- Trim, produce, and package dried cannabis and cannabis products.
- Clean and sanitize all production and irrigation equipment, tools, and work stations.
- Handle concentrated materials including cleaning agents and concentrated fertigation and nutrient compounds.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a degree from a post secondary institution in a related scientific field such as Agriculture, Biology, or Horticulture.
- Strong Agricultural background in a GAP and HACCP regulated environment, with proficiency in various cultivation and plant maintenance techniques.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in cannabis cultivation, horticulture, or related field.
- Open to work weekends and holidays.
- Local to the Edmonton Area or able to commute, with reliable transportation.
- Able to work comfortably in hot and humid cultivation spaces with bright lights (with provided PPE).
- Performing physical activities for duration of shift (standing, walking, moving equipment, stairs) including repetitive movements (trimming, packaging, planting).
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs (22kg)
- Comfortable squatting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as needed, including but not limited to sanitary clothing covers, gloves, mask, respirator, and/or eye protection while working.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and willing to provide proof upon employment.
- Plant pathogens and pests, including identification, causes, and treatments.
- Cannabis plant health, growing conditions, and large-scale production practices.
- General plant growth mechanisms, phytohormone interactions, and anatomy.
- Indoor horticultural watering systems.
- GPP, GMP and GLP and other Cannabis regulatory practices.
