Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized, innovative, passionate and results-orientated professional, to join our team as we support SHN's transformational agenda towards Zero Harm. The incumbent will engage in ethical conduct and strive to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient population and workforce. This position works heavily with all members of the interprofessional team and collaborates with all levels of staff to support QI initiatives and the Accreditation process.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert level quality improvement (QI) knowledge and lead capacity building in QI methodology (Lean, Six Sigma and Optimization) across the organization to build a culture of sustainable improvement.-
- Provide leadership in assessing hospital-wide compliance and alignment to required organizational practices, team standards, frameworks, policies, indicators, best practices and guidelines- Identify and evaluate root causes for performance shortfalls or compliance gaps, and collaborate with interprofessional teams to implement innovative strategies and patient safety initiatives for improved outcomes- Support the annual Quality Improvement Plan, Accreditation action plans and key corporate quality and safety initiatives aligned to the portfolio
Requirements:
- Master′s Degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Quality Improvement- Certification in the following: Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or previous experience in Quality Improvement Certified Profession in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred- 5+ years of quality improvement and project management experience; experience in a healthcare environment is an asset- Minimum 1-2 years of Accreditation experience having completed at least one Accreditation cycle- Advanced understanding of Accreditation Canada Qmentum Program and Accreditation evaluation standards including: Required Organizational Practices and High Priority Criteria for acute care setting, and leading practices with a high level of understanding regarding the principles of High Reliability Organization (HRO)- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills (including qualitative and quantitative analysis), with process driven mentality- Solid facilitation skills, with confidence and ability to provide coaching- Excellent critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail- Solid communication skills (both written and oral) with demonstrated excellence in stakeholder management skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to be consultative- Flexible and responsive in a complex and dynamic environment as a team player- Exceptional organization & time management skills, must be able to work and perform duties with little or no supervision and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines- Expert knowledge and proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft software: including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Outlook- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public- Demonstrates values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area- Demonstrates excellent work performance and attendance record
