**THE JOB**:
We are seeking Junior Environmental Consultant Summer Students to do a summer work term based out of Calgary, AB and surrounding areas.

**WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF**:

- Execute scopes of work and cost estimates under the supervision of the Project Manager.
- Ensure project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.
- Participating in technical and safety programs, quality assurance and quality control.
- Assist with execution of Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments.
- Complete detailed site assessments and groundwater monitoring.
- Coordinate and supervise tree planting.
- Manage and meet all client and regulatory ground disturbance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, directives and SOP’s.
- Implement internal and client safety programs.
- Remain current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, provide updated information as it becomes available to staff.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation, or similar discipline.
- Entering 3rd or higher year of studies preferred.
- Knowledge of the water act and wetland classification an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with 2010 Reclamation Criteria and Guidelines, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 Remediation Guidelines an asset.
- Understanding of upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in AB an asset.
- Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills an asset.
- Valid driver's license.
- Good physical health and willingness to travel and work in the field for extended periods.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
