**About The Role**:
Are you a highly motivated team player who possesses strong analytical, organization and planning skills? The Group Benefits Underwriter will be responsible for risk assessing, pricing, and analyzing new and in-force business. They will also contribute to profitability and retention objectives, customer service and relationships with other departments within our organization. **What You’ll Be Doing**:

- Provide risk assessment and pricing on new business primarily for the small to mid size market
- Prepare costing plan design alternatives
- Conduct annual renewal analyses of in-force business in line with profitability and retention objectives
- Service existing and prospective business within established service standards
- Perform Block and Preferred Arrangement analyses
- Participate in special projects as assigned

**What You’ll Bring**:

- Post Secondary education with a degree / diploma in business, math, or other related fields
- Strong analytical, organization and planning skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software packages
- Detail oriented with ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, to adapt to change and to offer creative solutions
- Previous group underwriting experience is an asset
