**Group Benefits Analyst - 8 month full time contract**

**Job Description**:
**What you will do**:

- Completes monthly or quarterly client plan performance reports that provide insight on financial performance, enrollment activity, and member claims patterns along with OTIP service activity results.
- Conducts detailed benefit plan analyses and provides recommendations on all benefits to clients requesting benefit consulting.
- Monitors and researches benefit industry trends to determine the impact to OTIP benefit plans.
- Works closely with other departments to understand and gather the information available to enhance both client reporting and business processes.
- Identifies and proposes plan design recommendations that sustain the balance of comprehensiveness and affordability of client benefit plans.
- Evaluates client plan design change requests and provides appropriate costings. Communicates details of agreed upon plan amendments.
- Verifies audited carrier health and dental financial statements to ensure that all aspects of the client financial agreements have been applied. Prepares financial summary for the Account Manager that supports the presentation of the financial results to the client.
- Provides internal support for other administrative areas. This includes responding to questions and requests related to renewals, contracts and administration of benefits, quoting rates, explaining company underwriting policies, and providing contract wording along with plan designs and rates where defined benefits differ from OTIP standards to appropriate personnel.
- Assists Consultants, if required, with presenting insights and recommendations to clients.
- Participates in block of business related issues, which includes compiling and evaluating relevant data. Records all renewal, amendment and consulting activity in appropriate block of business databases.
- Coordinates layout and organization of documentation in conjunction with communications, including producing, arranging and formatting material for distribution.
- Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to established standards. This includes assessing the order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology of documents.
- Screens incoming calls and correspondence, responding accordingly.

**Qualifications**:
**What you will bring**:

- A college diploma or equivalent insurance-related courses.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in group benefits reporting, underwriting or similar analytical roles.
- Knowledge of group benefits financial reporting provisions is an asset.
- Knowledge of life, long term disability, health and dental insurance, contract and benefits provisions.
- Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities. Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to communicate in French is preferred.
