Production Manager
This position is for our Metal Panel division, which supports all of our company divisions. Reports directly to the Vice President of Operations on all matters. The Production Manager will work closely with production, project managers, purchasing, service, and shipping personnel. The Production Manager is the overall supervisor of the Stateform manufacturing facility and will plan, organize, and regulate the production and maintenance operation to ensure plant production goals are met. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in engineering, scheduling, or project management is preferred.
Years of Experience
- Minimum 5+ years in a supervisory plant management role; and
- Experience in a Manufacturing plant is required.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing facility;
- To the extent that any site visits are required, work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises;
- On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards of physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions;
- Wearing PPE is mandatory in the plant facility;
- Follow Health and Safety Standards; and
- Flexible to work overtime as required.
Senior Level
- Detail oriented with the ability to reach architectural drawings;
- Knowledgeable in the industry and knows about our products and systems;
- Knowledgeable in LEAN manufacturing;
- Ability to act as a mentorship to the Plant Department, Supervisors and Lead Hands;
- Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office;
- Ability to work on many projects that are large and complex;
- Analyze short and long-term production and workforce capabilities;
- Provide strategies and recommendations to meet anticipated requirements;
- Drives accountability to product quality and production schedule to ensure that all relevant paperwork and accountability reports are completed daily;
- Motivate, train and supervise production staff to ensure daily production and targets are achieved;
- Play an active and significant role in the S&OP process; and
- Demonstrate State's core values and work in a team environment.
Job Specific Duties
- Ensure all the subordinates follow Company policies on Health, Safety & Environment and PPE requirements;
- Ensure training of workers in safe work practices and job safety requirements associated with a job process; i.e. provide induction training to new transferred workers and reinforcement training to regular employees;
- Respond to and correct unsafe acts;
- Drive continuous improvement culture to achieve performance in SQDCI;
- Ensure every day GEMBA with the team;
- Establish and maintain an operational system in the plant whereby named Supervisors and Lead Hands will assign and control material production;
- Prepare and present periodic reports to update executive management on growing operations to ensure best possible product and customer satisfaction;
- Successfully plan, direct, and manage company assets and personnel in the execution of manufacturing tasks to fulfill customer orders for both standard and customized panels;
- Create schedules for employees to maintain proper staffing levels throughout the week and various departments and for various shifts;
- Coordinate the daily activities of the Production and Operations teams;
- Delegate production assignments to the appropriate teams and individuals;
- Understand the Company's production goals/targets to intervene effectively when defining the scope;
- Lead regular KPI reviews for the manufacturing team ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic priorities
- Have in-depth knowledge of the content of the deliverables that he/she is responsible for;
- Oversee the inventory of raw materials and equipment;
- Select and manage, in concert with Supervisors and Lead Hands, hourly plant workers required for material fabrication, assembly, machine operation, packaging, shipping, and all other plant functions;
- Identify plant problems for corrective action and ensure actions are properly carried out;
- Implement manufacturing strategies and actions for the accomplishment of plant production goals and the maintenance of Company quality standards;
- Administer employee performance assessment programs and ensure that complaints of employees are addressed in a timely manner;
- Ensure that the teams have the necessary technical support;
- Ensure that the actual advancement of the deliverables truly reflect what was set out in the planning stages;
- Share ideas that could improve the product/process with team members;
- Efficiently communicate with team members so that they are informed of current projects and the advancement of the work;
- Identify, validate, and communicate the resource and skills needs of the team;
