Lethbridge, Canada Where The Wild Things Grow Early Learning Centre Ltd. Full time

We have a Supportive Child Care position starting as soon as possible. The position will pay $17.00/hour plus a top up wage if you are certified by the Government of Alberta as a Level 1, 2, or 3. If you do not have Certification, it must be obtained. The shift that is needed for this position is five days a week with the hours listed below.

Currently it is as follows:
Monday - Thursday: 12:00pm to 5:15pm (Child is in preschool, may be earlier on PD Days and they attend)
Fridays: 8:15am to 5:15pm

This position requires someone very flexible who is able to work with a child with Trisomy 21. We need someone dependable who doesn’t need a lot of time off or take many sick days. This position is needed for this child to have daily supports, lots of time off is not going to be do able with this position. This child is extremely active and loves joking around. This position needs someone who will help the child to develop his independence skills but also be available to assist the classroom so that the staff in the room are able to work with him as well.

We are located at 2803 6 Avenue South Lethbridge, near Henderson Lake.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Following a Daily Schedule
- Providing for the necessary needs of the child
- Assisting the other staff in the classroom so that it flows well.
- Filling out Reports
- Communicating with other staff member and parents
- Completing Physiotherapy Exercises
- Assist the child to build connections with their peers by engaging with that child and other children.
- Assistance with Speech Delays and working on signing

**Qualifications**

Applicants must have or be willing to obtain:

- A Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search Dated within 6 Months of Your Application.
- Intervention Record Check
- Child Care Certification
- First Aid
