Kitchen Team Member

We’re seeking both Full-time and Part-time friendly Kitchen Team Members to join our Prepared Foods Department. In this hands-on role, you’ll work with a variety of house-prepared items, from fresh sandwiches and rotisserie chickens to specialty salads and hot meals. You’ll help ensure our offerings are fresh, well-presented, and made with care, while delivering outstanding customer service at the counter.

Whether you’re slicing meats to order, serving up salads, answering customer questions, preparing grab-and-go meals, or offering a taste of our latest creations, you’ll play a key part in facilitating an exceptional in-store experience that keeps guests coming back.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Engage warmly with customers, answering questions and guiding them through our deli, bakery, and kitchen offerings
- Slice, portion, weigh, price, and package deli meats, cheeses, and house-made items according to customer requests and store standards
- Prepare fresh grab-and-go meals, including wraps, sandwiches, salads, and specialty trays
- Prepare hot HMR offerings, including rotisserie chickens, breakfast, lunch, and dinner items
- Offer samples and confidently recommend signature products and seasonal features to boost sales and customer satisfaction
- Ensure freshness and proper rotation of all perishable items; assist with stocking and merchandising
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and service area at all times
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols for prepping, storing, and serving food
- Assist with receiving deliveries, storing ingredients, and backroom inventory tasks
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment and be ready to jump in wherever needed

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Prior experience in customer service, restaurant, food service, grocery retail, or deli work is a strong asset
- A passion for fresh food and an interest in culinary quality
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse customer base
- Attention to detail in food presentation, cleanliness, and safety
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Able to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and stay organized during busy periods
- Must be available for a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays

**Education and Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

**Physical Requirements**:

- Able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions such as reaching, lifting, and bending
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working with knives, slicers, ovens, and hot food equipment (training provided)
