We are excited to announce an external opportunity for a Youth Outreach Worker with the ISE Program-Intensive Support and Engagement. This position offers the chance to work directly with youth connected to MCFD, many of whom are in government care. We're seeking someone with a strong passion for working with vulnerable youth and a natural ability to engage with people facing complex challenges.
Program Priority:
Beyond helping youth achieve their personal goals, ISE workers deliver intensive, relationship-based support—meeting frequently, adapting flexibly, and sustaining contact over time—so that youth experiencing complex and risky circumstances have consistent guidance from a reliable first point of contact

- Engagement and Support to Youth in and from care
- Support to Family and Caregivers
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with youth, fostering a sense of safety and belonging.
- Provide individualized support and mentorship tailored to the needs of youth in government care.
- Facilitate and support youth programming, including co-facilitation of groups, recreational activities, and positive social interactions.
- System Navigation and effective Co-case Management skills
- Work collaboratively with other ADAPS programs, supporting cross-program initiatives and participating in occasional shifts at the Pop-Up.
- Meaningful participation at community tables and networking.
- Adapt to changing needs, developing strategies that best serve the youth and their complex experiences.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with youth, colleagues, and relevant agencies.
- Working with youth who present with complex risk factors.

- Versatility and adaptability in responding to diverse needs and ever-changing situations.
- An uncanny ability to connect with youth who may hesitate or resist engaging.
- Experience working with youth connected to MCFD, especially those in government care.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across ADAPS programs.
- A proactive and positive approach to working in a dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends based on program needs.
What you Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work or a related discipline. 2 years’ experience working with youth who present with multiple risk factors. An equivalent combination of education and training coupled with significant experience will be considered.
- A fulsome understanding of the approaches, frameworks and supports necessary to address the complex lived experience of the youth we serve.
Pay: $28.49-$33.28 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
