**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated, fun-loving, passionate Dog Daycare Assistant with a sense of humour

Ideally, you will have the following:

- Previous experience with dogs preferred. Sorry, your own pets do not count.
- Comfortable with dogs of all breeds and/or the ability to be trained to interpret canine body language.
- Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non threatening manner
- Knowledge of Positive Reinforcement training preferred. R+ ONLY.
- Previous work experience demonstrating dependability
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to work as a team
- Demonstrated flexibility and proven coping skills
- A sense of humour is a huge asset

If you are looking for the job where you only cuddle puppies all day, this is not it (though of course it happens)

Your shift would be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from approximately 9 to 12 noon.

Some weeks would only be Tuesdays and Thursdays.

**Duties**
- Provide daily supervision for small groups of dogs. including feeding, walking, offering enrichment opportunities, and administering medication as needed.
- Ensure dogs are safe, comfortable, and engaged during their time with you.
- Maintain a clean environment by managing pet waste and cleaning up after pet activities immediately (can't be squeamish about dog poop)
- Must communicate effectively with other staff regarding issues noticed with dogs health, behavioural concerns, safety concerns that may arise, and/or immediately report any incident, accident, fight, injury etc.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving pet supplies or assisting larger dogs.
- Complete bulk food prep on an ongoing basis (can involve working with raw meat, raw and cooked fish, offal (organs) etc. )

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in pet care or related fields is preferred.
- Willingness to maintain a clean environment ongoing
- Ability to lift heavy objects and manage physically demanding tasks associated with pet care.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A genuine love for animals of all types and sizes.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and problem-solve effectively.
- Must be willing to take and complete pet first aid and CPR certification within 3 months of start date.
- A drivers license and access to a car is heavily preferred but not absolutely necessary.
