The Supervisor is self-motivated and results driven individual who will oversee the day-to-day manufacturing operations of the Breakout Department at Tradewood Industries. Reporting to the Operations Manager the Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating operations and activities within the department to obtain the maximum use of all available resources required to fulfill our customers expectations. The Supervisor will lead by example by providing excellent mentorship and clear expectations. It is essential Supervisor, to demonstrate continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing principles, identify new opportunities, shifts in production demand or business conditions and recommend appropriate action.

**Critical Success Factors**:

- Excellent knowledge and experience with Lean processes and tools including use of 5S practical problem solving and root cause analysis
- Proficient knowledge of metal fabrication and processes, manual and computer controlled, multi-axis metal working equipment and finishing processes
- Excellent tech savvy skills and strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, ERP philosophies and tools, and manufacturing planning systems
- Strong sense of inventory planning and controls
- Willingness to participate and support other aspects of the organization

**Overall expectations**:

- Creative thinker who is confident to lead, mentor and implement strategies to enhance safety, quality and efficiency to achieve individual and company goals
- Identify and champion innovative improvement to drive Lean manufacturing concepts throughout the manufacturing process with the objective of increasing efficiency and production rates
- Responsible to track production to ensure planned quantities and deliveries are being achieved
- Establish and coordinate schedules within the factory
- Coordinate, monitor and expedite the flow of work between departments according to production schedule
- Support product development and continuous improvement by integrating various tools (Lean, Kaizen etc.) into processes
- Responsible to administer the collective bargaining agreement for team member complaints and grievances
- Ensure adequate delegation and responsibilities to each team member in all development and implementation of initiatives
- Responsible to identify relevant training needs and opportunities
- Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company growth
- Responsible to maintain a safe work environment for all team members
- Perform other duties as required by Management

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 5 years manufacturing management experience in a unionized environment
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, cnc, and programming experience an asset
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Able to excel in high pressure situations
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

- Manufacturing Management: 5 years (required)
